Denver has a lot to offer, and the city is especially active thanks to America’s 250th anniversary. As always, dress comfortably and don’t skip sun protection or hydration.

If you'd rather spend the weekend exploring local art, culture, and live music, you're in luck. Some of the city's best events are happening on the 4th of July weekend.
More than 260 artists from across the country transform Cherry Creek North into an open-air gallery filled with paintings, photography, sculptures, and jewelry. This festival also includes live performances, food, and good people-watching, so it’s a must for the 4th of July in Denver.
Looking for something a little different? Moments That Made US is an exhibit that explores the people, events, and stories that helped shape Colorado's identity. The exhibit is running through October 2026 at the History Colorado Center. Plus, it’s indoors, so the event can be a welcome break from the heat—or unexpected rain.
Museums are great, but your kids might want something more exciting. For a family-friendly event, check out the Brass Band Extravaganza at City Park. It runs from 6 pm to 8 pm and is free to the public, so come with your lawn chairs and picnic blankets for a good time.

It’s America’s 250th, so if you want a dose of nostalgia, these events come jam-packed with old-fashioned Americana like parades, sports, and fireworks.Â
The Park Hill 4th of July Parade is Denver's longest-running Independence Day tradition. Expect marching bands, colorful floats, classic cars, and thousands of spectators lining the streets. More than 50 groups are participating in the parade, which starts at 1:30 pm on July 4.
Elitch Gardens keeps the 4th of July celebrations going with a fireworks show on July 5. Spend the day riding roller coasters, cooling off at the water park, or exploring downtown before settling in for an evening fireworks display, which starts at 9:15 pm.
What’s more American than baseball? Root for your home team at the Colorado Rockies game at Coors Field, where they’ll face the San Francisco Giants. Even better, fans can stick around for postgame fireworks on July 3 and July 4.

If your ideal holiday weekend is singing along with thousands of fans or dancing under the stars, Denver delivers.Â
Ed Sheeran is bringing his record-breaking LOOP tour to Empower Field on Independence Day. It's hard to beat a concert packed with sing-along hits, but expect large crowds. Book your tickets early (if you haven’t already) and give yourself plenty of time to travel and wait in lines before the show.
Deadrocks XII is a major event for electronic music fans. Held on July 2 and 3, this two-night event combines a massive electronic music production with one of the most spectacular concert settings in the country. Red Rocks is about an hour’s drive from Denver on a good day, but expect way more traffic before this event. Doors open at 5 pm, but try to get there earlier to snag parking and a decent spot in line.
If you can’t swing a Red Rocks trip on July 2-3, the party continues on July 4 with the Deadbeats Backyard Jamboree at Civic Center Park. This daytime event offers a more laid-back festival atmosphere, making it a great complement to the high-energy Deadrocks shows.

Are you entertaining a group of out-of-town family? Or maybe you just want to spend the holiday with your friends? Denver has plenty of easy crowd-pleasers for the 4th of July, like:Â
If you need fun daytime plans before the fireworks, these activities are sure to please. Many of these attractions are open during the holiday weekend, but check current hours before you go.
But juggling group planning (and Aunt Martha’s loud opinions) can fray your nerves. Instead of trying to coordinate dinner reservations for everyone or squeezing into another packed venue, consider slowing down.
Small groups of 4-6 looking for a more memorable ending to the day can book Oakwell's Garage Party, which combines connected private spa suites, herbal beer baths, infrared saunas, rain showers, and access to the taproom's self-serve craft beverages. Not everyone wants to spend the 4th of July in Denver navigating traffic, big crowds, and the heat. If your idea of a fun holiday weekend involves slowing down instead of packing your schedule, we say go for it.
Start the morning with coffee on a patio, take a leisurely stroll through one of the city's neighborhoods, or spend a few hours exploring local shops and galleries. You could even visit a farmers' market, enjoy brunch with friends, or simply take advantage of the long weekend to do a little less.
And when the afternoon heat kicks in, there's something to be said for escaping indoors.
At Oakwell, guests spend 90 minutes in a private spa suite featuring a warm herbal beer bath, infrared sauna, rain shower, and relaxation space, all without battling holiday crowds. Before or after your session, you can grab a craft beer, cider, wine, kombucha, tea, or non-alcoholic drink in the cozy self-serve taproom. While everyone else is rushing from one event to the next, you could be doing absolutely nothing for a little while—and enjoying every minute of it.
4th of July in Denver is already big, but America’s 250th anniversary means you can expect an even bigger bash this year. However you plan to spend the weekend, don’t try to do everything. Pick one or two experiences you're genuinely excited about and leave yourself enough time to enjoy them.
If you're looking for a way to escape the heat and holiday chaos for a while, Oakwell is a fun and relaxing way to celebrate America’s birthday. Plan your perfect holiday weekend: Book your Oakwell 4th of July soak before reservations fill up.
