What is an Infrared Sauna?
While traditional saunas involve increasing the room's temperature to kickstart the body's sweat, far infrared saunas utilize infrared waves that penetrate straight to the cellular level of your body for more significant results.
When relaxing in the Infrared Sauna at Oakwell Beer Spa, your core body temperature rises to encourage sweat and detoxification. With an increase in your body's core temperature, your sweat comes from internal processes rather than external heat.
What is Infrared Light?
Infrared light is a wavelength from the sun known as Infrared Radiation. It's invisible to the human eye and a part of the sun's light spectrum. That said, it doesn't contain UV rays, so it's not harmful to the human body. An infrared sauna experience directly affects your cells and purges toxins from the inside out, which leaves you feeling refreshed.

Oakwell Beer Spa’s cozy taproom and luxury spa services create a relaxing atmosphere. Although we offer a unique experience, we like to keep things simple and stress-free.
Beer Therapy Room
The Beer Therapy Room is the highlight of Oakwell Beer Spa, which you can enjoy during your Infrared Sauna appointment.
This modern, luxurious room fits one to two people. Each room has an infrared sauna, rain shower, and beer bath hydrotherapy tub.
Start your Beer Therapy Circuit with a 20-minute infrared sauna session to sweat out toxins and open up your pores. This prepares your skin to soak up all the benefits of your beer bath blend of hops, malted barley, and herbs.
During your Beer Therapy Room session, the sauna and beer bath helps promote calmness, cleanses skin of bacteria and toxins, encourages healthy hair and skin, alleviates muscle and joint pain, and boosts digestion and metabolic rate.
To get the full wellness experience, you’ll spend 20 minutes detoxing in the sauna, get your blood flowing in a cold rain shower, then spend the rest of your time relaxing in your warm bubbly beer bath.
Taproom
The cozy taproom oasis at Oakwell Beer Spa offers various craft beverages from local Colorado producers, including beer, wine, kombucha, and non-alcoholic drinks.
We also host a tap takeover with a different Colorado brewery each month!
Start your experience at Oakwell in the taproom, or wait until after your treatment to kick back with a beverage. If you'd like to enjoy a drink in your Beer Therapy Room, keep it cold and fresh, even in the sauna, by using one of our special triple-insulated tumblers.
Sanitization
Our promise to all Oakwell Beer Spa guests is to provide a safe, clean and sanitized environment. We take pride in our strict cleaning procedures to ensure each visit feels like it’s the first time your Beer Therapy Room, including the sauna, has been used.
Timing between each Beer Therapy Room appointment allows our Spakeepers to disinfect and deep clean the space. Our ventilation system keeps air fresh and new for your session.

The Beer Therapy Ritual includes 90-minute access to a private spa suite including your own personal therapeutic herbal bath, infrared sauna, and rain shower. Your beer bath will start to drain 70-minutes after your appointment start time leaving you 20 minutes to shower, gather your belongings, dress and exit the room. Listed rate covers access for up to two people. Beverages and enhancements sold separately.
The 90-minute Couple's Retreat package is one of our guest favorite. Enjoy your own romantic spa suite decorated with rose petals, candles, and artisan chocolate bonbons. Your beer bath will start to drain 70-minutes after your appointment start time leaving you 20 minutes to shower, gather your belongings, dress and exit the room. Beverages are sold separately.
The 90-minute Oakwell Escape package is our guest favorite. Enjoy your own romantic private spa suite decorated with rose petals and candles. Graze on a bountiful charcuterie board that includes a curated assortment of cured meats, fine cheeses, fresh fruits, and olives. Savor a selection of artisan chocolate bonbons from a local chocolatier. Melt your stress away during a 30-minute Zero Gravity Massage experience. Your beer bath will start to drain 70-minutes after your appointment start time leaving you 20 minutes to shower, dress, gather your belongings, and exit the room. Complimentary craft beverages upon check-in are included with this package. Additional beverages are sold separately.
The Garage Party package offers a spa day for up to four people. We’ll merge two private spa suites via a connected door to create a larger space with two therapeutic herbal baths, two saunas, and two showers. Up to 4 people can detox in the two adjoining saunas, take a cold rain shower to keep your blood flowing, then enjoy the benefits of a bubbly beer infused therapeutic bath. Keep in mind that Oakwell Beer Spa isn’t a loud party spot but rather a calm space to unwind. Your beer bath will start to drain 70-minutes after your appointment start time, leaving you 20 minutes to shower, dress, gather your belongings, and exit the room. Beverages are sold separately.

This place was awesome. I surprised my partner on the last day of our Colorado trip. After hiking, horseback riding, sand boarding, etc. we needed to relax. The zero gravity chairs were pretty wild. If you are not used to massages, I suggest picking a 1 out of 3. I love massages so the 2 was perfect for me. The private rooms were nice and clean. I had never used an infrared sauna before and really enjoyed it. The soak was so relaxing and smelled fantastic. I used the beer conditioning hair mask from the minibar. It smelled so good and made my hair nice and soft. The staff were excellent as well. If I lived in Denver, I would be a member!
Great experience! Very welcoming and helpful staff . The music, the infrared sauna, the hot tub with hops and aroma was perfect! Very clean and has everything you need! Temperature and timing of everything was spot on. The cool shower in room offering beer shampoo and body wash ! My hair was so soft after and the scent was amazing! We would like to see a little more beer varieties to sip on . We got this as a Christmas gift and it was so much enjoyed. I'd recommend to anyone looking to give as a gift for any occasion! Amazing
I went to the location in Highland. I was actually visiting boyfriend, and we wanted to do something new and different. Our experience at the Spa was amazing. All of the employees were very sweet, professional and had great energy. As soon as we walked through the front door, it felt like we walked into paradise, and we did. I want to mention, my boyfriend is 6ft 6inches and I am 5ft 11inches. The jacuzzi is spacious enough for all sizes. We got there best package, and it was worth every cent. The massage after the sauna and spa was out of the world. I will be going again. I have too.

We had a wonderful experience at Oakwell Beer Spa! The Infrared sauna was our favorite and the zero gravity full body massage chairs were a wonderful surprise that left us feeling extra relaxed and pampered. Lexi and Jessica made the whole experience extra special with their wonderful and kind demeanor. Nothing felt rushed or hurried, great time all the way around!! And delicious beers on tap- the Kolsch, Saison and Gose were our faves!

How does the infrared sauna fit into the Oakwell experience?
Most guests enjoy the Oakwell wellness circuit: start in the infrared sauna, cool down in the shower, then relax in the beer-inspired hydrotherapy bath. You are more than welcome to create your own circuit.
How long do guests typically stay in the infrared sauna?
Session length can vary by guest comfort, but most people spend 15 to 20 minutes in the sauna and take breaks as needed within their 90-minute Private Spa Suite experience.
Are there any side effects of infrared saunas?
Since you sweat a lot and can get dehydrated, it’s common to feel lightheaded after a sauna session. You can alleviate this by drinking plenty of water before and after the sauna. It’s also important to rest your body after your session to entirely reap the benefits.
Can I bring a drink into the sauna?
For comfort and safety, we recommend enjoying beverages responsibly in the saunas as well as before and after your time in the sauna. There is also plenty of water available.
Are there age restrictions?
Guests must be 14+. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Are there health considerations?
If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular conditions, or other health issues, please consult your physician before using the infrared sauna or any heat-based experiences.
Do I need to book the infrared sauna separately?
No — the infrared sauna is part of your Private Spa Suite experience and is included with your reservation.
