What is an Infrared Sauna?
While traditional saunas involve increasing the room's temperature to kickstart the body's sweat, far infrared saunas use infrared light to warm your body directly, so you sweat at a lower air temperature.
When relaxing in the Infrared Sauna at Oakwell Beer Spa, your body temperature rises and you start to sweat, much like during moderate exercise, while the air around you stays comfortable.
What is Infrared Light?
Infrared light is a wavelength from the sun known as Infrared Radiation. It's invisible to the human eye and a part of the sun's light spectrum. That said, it doesn't contain UV rays, so it's not harmful to the human body. In a sauna, it warms you the way sunshine warms your skin on a cool day, which leaves you feeling refreshed.
Infrared Saunas, like we have at Oakwell Beer Spa, harness the safe parts of sunlight to raise your body's heat, increasing your heart rate and enhancing your circulation. That’s why the heat feels a bit like a light workout, and why it’s worth taking breaks and drinking water.

Private Spa Suite
The Private Spa Suite is the highlight of Oakwell Beer Spa, which you can enjoy during your Infrared Sauna appointment.
This modern, luxurious room fits one to two people. Each room has an infrared sauna, rain shower, and beer bath hydrotherapy tub.
Start your Beer Therapy Circuit with a 20-minute infrared sauna session to warm up and work up a sweat. Then rinse off and sink into your beer bath blend of hops, malted barley, and herbs.
During your Private Spa Suite session, the sauna and beer bath help you relax, ease tense muscles, and take the pressure off your joints.
To get the full wellness experience, you’ll spend 20 minutes warming up in the sauna, cool off in the rain shower, then spend the rest of your time relaxing in your warm bubbly beer bath.
Taproom
The cozy taproom oasis at Oakwell Beer Spa offers various craft beverages from local producers, including beer, wine, kombucha, and non-alcoholic drinks.
We also host tap takeovers with local breweries!

Sanitization
Our promise to all Oakwell Beer Spa guests is to provide a safe, clean and sanitized environment. We take pride in our strict cleaning procedures to ensure each visit feels like it’s the first time your Private Spa Suite, including the sauna, has been used.
Timing between each Private Spa Suite appointment allows our Spakeepers to disinfect and deep clean the space. Our ventilation system keeps air fresh and new for your session.

The 90-minute Couple's Retreat package is one of our guest favorite. Enjoy your own romantic spa suite decorated with rose petals, candles, and artisan chocolate bonbons. Your beer bath will start to drain 70-minutes after your appointment start time leaving you 20 minutes to shower, gather your belongings, dress and exit the room. Beverages are sold separately.
The 90-minute Oakwell Escape package is our guest favorite. Enjoy your own romantic private spa suite decorated with rose petals and candles. Graze on a bountiful charcuterie board that includes a curated assortment of cured meats, fine cheeses, fresh fruits, and olives. Savor a selection of artisan chocolate bonbons from a local chocolatier. Melt your stress away during a 30-minute Zero Gravity Massage experience. Your beer bath will start to drain 70-minutes after your appointment start time leaving you 20 minutes to shower, dress, gather your belongings, and exit the room. Complimentary craft beverages upon check-in are included with this package. Additional beverages are sold separately.
The Garage Party package offers a spa day for up to four people. We’ll merge two private spa suites via a connected door to create a larger space with two therapeutic herbal baths, two saunas, and two showers. Up to 4 people can detox in the two adjoining saunas, take a cold rain shower to keep your blood flowing, then enjoy the benefits of a bubbly beer infused therapeutic bath. Keep in mind that Oakwell Beer Spa isn’t a loud party spot but rather a calm space to unwind. This place was better than expected. I knew it would be something fun to do with a friend coming into town and it was the perfect hangover remedy from our concert. Private, clean, good service, good products, good drinks. The only thing that caught me off guard was the massage. We both thought they were massages done by a massage therapist but it was a massage chair. We booked an hour and then downgraded to 30 mins when we learned this. That being said the zero gravity massage chair was the best massage from a chair either of us has ever had. Pleasantly surprised. Would recommend to friends and the gift card would be an amazing gift
My husband and I went here for our 15 year anniversary and did one of the packages. Taiya was exceptional! It was our first time and she went through everything thoroughly and made sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend this place if you want to leave there feeling a new level of relaxation.
**** I am editing my original post**** my original had the employee’s name which was pretty harsh. In reading my post, I realized the tone was much more harsh than I intended it to be. Since posting, the beerspa 100% made a hiccup of a situation better. I still think a buzzer going off multiple times should be addressed and I fully expect it was addressed based off of the quick response time from management. However, I am impressed by how the team handled the situation. Changing my review from 3 to 5 stars and look forward to another return in the future. I hate to post this review because I genuinely love the beer spa. We pressed the button numerous times for service during our spa experience and the guy upfront I guess kept turning off the bell…. We were told the bell was missed. There’s only two reasons a bell would go off and both need attention… One would be an emergency and one is for service. I would 100% recommend the beer spa, but this experience was subpar for the money.

I just had my very first spa experience at Oakwell Beer Spa, and it was absolutely top-notch! I experienced the private spa room—which features a sauna, hot tub, and cold shower—and paired it with a chair massage. Both were incredibly relaxing. Oakwell truly thought of every detail, providing reusable insulated cups, drinks on tap, snacks and plush robes. The private room itself is stunning with custom tile and wallpaper. A flawless, lovely experience from start to finish!
We attended a friend's party at Oakwell this past week and had the best time! The spa/soaking/sauna experience, and the massage chairs were wonderful! The local beers and non-alcoholic beverage selection was terrific. And the Oakwell staff is top-notch - professional, friendly, attentive. I highly recommend Oakwell!

Incredible! Each time I leave Oakwell, I'm a noodle. It's such an escape and sanctuary from the noise of the outside world. The therapy rooms offer privacy and complete relaxation with whomever you choice to share the experience. Floating out of the therapy room, I love to relax with another beverage in the lounge before getting a massage in a zero gravity massage chair which are the best kept secret in town... The chairs give the best butt massage EVER. :) The spa smells amazing with their signature scent. I can't resist taking home a candle each time I visit. Denver is lucky to have such an extraordinary small business.

My husband and I booked this for our date night. From the beginning when we walked in, it felt like a luxury spa. Staff were very nice and attentive. The seating area was lovely. Once we went to out person suite we were shocked at how amazing it looked. There was even a questions pamphlet so we could ask each other fun questions while relaxing in the sauna. We planned our next visit while in the suite. We even stayed a bit longer in the lounge after out time was over in the suite and played another questions game they had, and the whole time sipping on beer. Such a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend!

How is an infrared sauna different from a traditional one?

Is an infrared sauna really good for my health?

Studies of regular sauna bathing have also linked it with lower blood pressure and a healthier heart, though most of that research looked at traditional saunas.
Is an infrared sauna safe?
For most healthy adults, yes. No harmful effects have been reported from infrared saunas, and infrared has none of the ultraviolet in sunlight. The main downside is fluid loss, so drink water and stand up slowly. If you’re pregnant or have a heart or blood pressure condition, check with your doctor first, as our health and safety FAQs advise.
How long should I stay in the sauna?
Most guests spend 15 to 20 minutes in the sauna at a time, then cool off in the rain shower or soak in the tub. If you’re new to saunas, start with a shorter round and step out whenever you feel too warm; your 90 minutes in the suite leave time for a few rounds.
Can I drink before or during the sauna?
Yes, in moderation, and water first. You can take your drink into the sauna in the insulated tumbler, but alcohol in the heat makes you lose fluids faster, so keep it light, sip water and take breaks. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, step out, cool off in the rain shower and rest.
Is the infrared sauna good after a day of skiing?
It’s a cozy way to thaw out. The sauna’s gentle heat relaxes tense muscles, then the rain shower and a warm soak in the tub do the rest. For a full après-ski evening, add a drink in the taproom or a Zero Gravity Massage.
How do I make the visit a whole wellness day?
Pair your suite time with a Zero Gravity Massage and a slow drink in the taproom, then keep the rest of the day easy. A simple wellness day in Highlands Ranch adds a walk along the High Line Canal and a relaxed dinner nearby.
