Most people have never heard of a ‘beer spa’ before. And even if you have, Oakwell Beer Spa does things a little different. We don’t want you to feel like you are going in blind, so we have gathered a list of FAQs, so you know what to expect throughout your Oakwell Beer Spa journey.
A beer spa is a day spa that offers beer-infused spa services, most notably beer baths, where guests soak in water that is infused with hops, malt, and medicinal herbs. Beer spas also offer craft beers on tap so guests can enjoy adult beverages before, during, and after their spa treatments.
Oakwell Beer Spa’s full spa day includes a Beer Therapy Circuit, which starts with a detoxifying infrared sauna session, followed by a refreshing cold shower, and ending with a warm, bubbly beer bath. The experience is topped off with a full body massage in a zero gravity massage chair, followed by drinks and lounging in the taproom afterward.
Oakwell Beer Spa is open 7 days a week. Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm
Our guests are encouraged to park in the large, paved parking lot found on the Southwest corner of 31st Ave and Marion St. There is also ample unmetered street parking on Downing St and 30th Ave. For our guests needing accessible parking, please use the designated ADA parking spot located directly behind our building, which can be accessed through the alley off 30th Ave. Please do not park behind the studio apartments next door, or in the non-ADA spot directly behind our building, as those are reserved for our neighboring residents. And remember – we want you to have fun, but please don’t drink and drive!
Of course! Oakwell Beer Spa is equipped to host parties for up to 15 guests. For groups of 3 to 4 people, we suggest a Garage Party where we join two Beer Therapy Rooms together via a garage door for a 90-minute Beer Therapy session. For groups of 6 to 15, you can rent the entire spa out for up to three hours.

We are committed to supporting local, so you will only find Colorado-based beer and craft beverages in our taproom. Each month, we will have a different local brewery featured during our month-long tap takeover, throughout which we will feature five of that brewery’s tastiest brewskies on tap. Make sure to check out our social media pages for the latest deets on our partner brewery of the month.
Try a large selection of unique, hand-picked beers from craft and microbreweries from all over Colorado. Beverages are charged by the ounces and are not included in your Beer Therapy Room Access.
Yes, you can drink non-alcoholic beverages at Oakwell Beer Spa! Just because it is a ‘beer’ spa, doesn’t mean you have to drink beer. In addition to beer, wine, and cider, Oakwell Beer Spa has a wide range of craft, non-alcoholic beverages for you to enjoy.
We know what it’s like to get the munchies while drinking, so we have provided a complimentary selection of goodies and snacks for you to enjoy while hanging out in our taproom
Most guests stay at Oakwell Beer Spa between 2.5 to 3 hours, although there is no time limit to how long you can stay and hang out. We suggest checking in 30 minutes before your Beer Therapy Room appointment. You can then hang out in the taproom after your appointment for as long as you would like.
We have four private Beer Therapy Rooms at Oakwell Beer Spa which is where the magic of ‘beer therapy’ takes place. During your 90-minute Beer Therapy Room session, you can jump back and forth between the amenities at your leisure. The Beer Therapy Rooms are completely private, with each room accommodating one or two people per session. So come alone, or book with a friend!

Yes, of course! Call ahead for groups of 3 or 4, so we can join two of our Beer Therapy Rooms together using our roll-up garage doors. We can also accommodate groups of 5+ by combining all four of our Beer Therapy Rooms together. You can also check out our event packages to rent out our entire space. Absolutely! Upon check-in, we will provide you with a double-wall, insulated, stainless steel tumbler to use in the taproom and Beer Therapy Rooms. These tumblers have been custom made to ensure your drinks stay cold, even while you are in the sauna, beer bath, and shower. We also provide a robe and slippers in each Beer Therapy Room in case you need to run out and refill your drink in the middle of your session. The only place you cannot bring a drink is our Relaxation Lounge, where our Zero Gravity Massage Chairs are located.
Our Beer Therapists are our friendly customer service attendants who are always available at the check-in counter and taproom to help you with whatever you need. Our Beer Therapists will be the ones to guide you through Oakwell Beer Spa journey by helping you get set up on the self-serve beer wall, as well as escorting you to your Beer Therapy Room at your designated appointment time.
Your Beer Therapy Circuit takes place in the privacy of your own room, so it is up to you if you wear your bathing suit or your birthday suit. Comfortable street clothes are suggested when hanging out in the taproom, as well as when enjoying the zero gravity massage chairs.
Not quite. As we fill the beer baths, we infuse the water with a seasonal herbal blend that always uses hops and malted barley as a base. Our Master Herbalist partners curate a new beer bath blend every few months, incorporating herbs like lavender, calendula, chamomile, and peppermint, depending on the season. These herbs slowly brew as the water fills the tub, creating a giant beer tea – except instead of drinking, you soak in it!
No! We do not put yeast in our beer baths and the mixture in the tub is not fermented. The water in the tub is infused with a beer-inspired herbal blend that always includes a base of hops and malted barley, plus other seasonal ingredients.
Bathing in beer is extremely good for your skin due to the medicinal properties of beer’s main ingredients – hops and malted barley. Hops is a natural sedative with numerous calming and anti-aging properties. Barley is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins, particularly Vitamin B2 and B3, which are known to nourish the hair, nails, and skin.
We wouldn’t want to bathe in someone else’s bath – and we don’t expect you to either. Our tubs are fully drained, disinfected, and refilled with clean water after each use. It is our promise that when you dip into your beer bath, you can rest easy knowing you are the first one using it.
Thank you for asking! When enjoying your Beer Therapy Room, please be mindful of your noise level, as there is most likely someone trying to relax in the Beer Therapy Rooms next to you. If you need to run to the restroom or taproom, we also ask that you dry yourself off and slip on the provided robe and slippers to avoid creating a slip hazard in our common spaces.
We are firm believers in making Oakwell Beer Spa a safe and welcoming space for all humans, regardless of physical ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Due to this, we have made sure that our facility is entirely ADA accessible. This includes a designated ADA Beer Therapy Room equipped with an ADA shower bench, sauna ramp, and mechanical spa lift. If you would like to book our ADA-accessible Beer Therapy Room, or if you need other accommodations, please let us know at the time of booking so we can have everything ready for you.
Just like any other bar or spa, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who appears to be intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We encourage our guests to enjoy a pint or two to aid in the relaxation process, but we do not condone overindulging. Please be mindful that Oakwell Beer Spa is a day spa and wellness space, not a nightclub or dive bar. If any of our guests are disturbing the wellbeing or peacefulness of others, our Beer Therapists reserve the right to ask that person to leave without a refund.
Combining alcohol with saunas and hot tubs is a frequent tradition around the world, from having a stein at the hot mineral springs in Germany, to taking vodka shots in the saunas in Finland. As with anything though, it is important to stay in tune with how your body is feeling, to stay hydrated, and to take a break when needed.
At Oakwell Beer Spa, we encourage drinking beer and other beverages in moderation to aid in the relaxation process. That being said, we do not condone overindulging and reserve the right to cancel or cut an appointment short for anyone who appears intoxicated.
To ensure the safety of our guests, we maintain our saunas and hot tubs at a moderate temperature, with the beer baths never going above 98F and the saunas staying below 140F. We also provide cold drinking water throughout our facility to help our guests stay hydrated.
We are not licensed to practice medicine, so please consult your physician for advice on which treatments are safe. In general, hot tubs and saunas are not recommended for those who are expecting, but if your physician says it’s okay, please ask one of our Beer Therapists to lower the heat of the sauna and hot tub to your desired temperature. It is also strongly advised that you consult your physician prior to using the Zero Gravity Massage Chairs, especially if you are in your first or third trimester.
Please alert our team during the booking process if you have a specific allergy that we need to be aware of. The herbal mixes that we use in our beer baths change on a seasonal basis, so if you have any concerns, please consult one of our Beer Therapists and we will figure out the best way to accommodate you.
If you have any medical issues, including seizures, recently broken bones, high or low blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, metal or silicone implants, or a chronic illness, we ask that you consult your doctor before using the beer bath, infrared saunas, or zero gravity massage chairs.
