A first visit to Oakwell Beer Spa is straightforward, unique, and relaxing. Here’s exactly how a spa day at Oakwell works and what you can expect, so you can enjoy it without second-guessing anything.

A Quick Overview of the Oakwell Beer Spa Experience

  • A tranquil, private suite for your 90-minute session
  • Warm, bubbly soak made with hops, barley, and herbs (yeast-free)
  • Infrared sauna that raises your core body temperature for detoxification
  • A rain shower with nourishing beer-infused skin and hair care products
  • Optional beverages, including craft beer and non-alcoholic drinks
  • Zero-gravity massage chairs with adjustable programs
  • A vanity room with everything you need to freshen up after your spa day

From check-in to chill-out

Oakwell Beer Spa prioritizes an easy, enjoyable spa experience with a smooth, seamless process from start to finish.

Check-in and get set up

Arrive for your appointment about half an early, so you can complete your intake forms, get set up on the beverage wall, and pour yourself a drink. When it’s time for your appointment, your Beer Therapist will guide you to your spa suite, show you how everything works, and make sure you’re ready for relaxation.

Taproom options

The taproom is a relaxing space you can enjoy before or after your spa session. The self-serve experience offers locally brewed craft beer, wine, tea cider, and kombucha. You can also enjoy light snacks and cozy seating.

Infrared sauna

You’ll begin your spa experience with about 20 minutes in the infrared sauna, allowing time to sweat, detox, and unwind. Infrared heat feels different from a traditional sauna because it warms the body directly rather than heating the air around you. You can use this time to relax and take a break or cut your session short if needed, especially if it’s your first time.

The beer-inspired soak

Your tub is cleaned and filled with fresh water and herbal ingredients for your session, so it feels like you’re the first person to ever use it. It’s similar to a warm, bubbly hot tub experience. The water is infused with hops, barley, and seasonal herbs that help calm the mind, body, and skin. There’s also a relaxation deck to rest outside of the water if you’d like.

Shower and freshen up

There’s a shower in your private spa suite with all the skin and haircare products you need to rinse off. Then, you can head to the Vanity Room, which has everything you need to get dressed and freshen up. This is especially convenient if you have other plans after your spa day.

Zero-gravity massage chairs

In the Relaxation Lounge are zero-gravity massage chairs that offer a full-body, deep-tissue massage. You can add on a 15 or 30-minute session to any spa package. Once you lie back in a neutral, zero gravity position, the chair will scan your body to select the most appropriate massage settings for your body shape and size.

What does a beer spa feel like?

The entire space offers a luxurious yet relaxing atmosphere, whether you’re in Oakwell Beer Spa’s taproom, private spa suite, or relaxation lounge. The beer bath soak, which is the main event, is like a hot tub infused with beneficial beer ingredients. While the sauna, beer bath, and zero-gravity massage each offer unique benefits, they work together to leave your skin, hair, and mind refreshed.
