Football season is back, and what better NFL home game to attend than the Denver Broncos? Whether you’re a Denver local or visiting, be sure to make a whole day of it and enjoy other fun activities in the Mile High City.
Denver has many fun and unique things to do, with something for everyone. In this article, we’ll share the best things to do before and after a Denver Broncos game, including brewery hopping, taking a street art tour, and relaxing at a beer spa.
The Denver Broncos’ first game is in early August, and the last game is in December.
2024 home games are on the following dates:
The Denver Broncos play home games at the Empower Field at Mile High, about a ten-minute drive from Downtown Denver.
Empower Field is easily accessible to Denver’s popular areas, including Downtown and River North Art District (RiNo). It’s a short drive away, or you can take the light rail with E and W rail lines stopping at the stadium.
Below, we’ll share the best activities to do on the day or weekend of a Broncos football game. Each activity is within a 15-minute drive or short light rail ride from the stadium. Whether you’re looking to shop, eat, drink, or relax, there are many ways to enjoy your day before or after the game.
Denver Union Station is a historic train station and lively space with shops, cafes, and restaurants. There’s plenty of comfortable seating indoors and outdoors and many places to explore nearby.
If you’re looking for one place to pass the time before or after a Denver Broncos game, it’s easy to spend a few hours at Denver Union Station.
Relax and people-watch at Confluence Park, tucked away from the hustle in Downtown Denver. The park sits along Cherry Creek and the South Platte River, offering a peaceful atmosphere.
You can stroll or bike through the park, relax on a bench, or set up a picnic. You can also rent kayaks for the river from Confluence Kayak & Ski.
Our favorite game-day activity is relaxing at Oakwell Beer Spa, a unique day spa with beer-inspired treatments.
Oakwell Beer Spa offers the perfect mix of fun and relaxation. Enjoy rejuvenating spa services, including Beer Bath Hydrotherapy, Infrared Sauna, and Zero Gravity Massage. There’s also a cozy, self-serve taproom where you can enjoy locally brewed craft beer, wine, tea, cider, and kombucha.
If you want to enjoy a spa day before or after the game, you can book a private Beer Therapy Room for two or book multiple rooms for a larger group. You can also stop in to enjoy drinks in the taproom.
The Museum of Contemporary Art is one of Denver’s best and largest museums, with more than 7,000 pieces of artwork. Explore modern and contemporary art collections. There’s also a gift shop where you can find unique items.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the best outdoor activities in Denver and one of the nation’s most diverse gardens. There are 24 acres of colorful plants year-round, exhibits, a gift shop, and benches for relaxing.
Upstairs Circus is a DIY craft space with a bar, ideal for getting creative before or after a Denver Broncos game. You can choose your own project, including home decor, fashion pieces, and pet accessories. Enjoy a cocktail, mocktail, wine, or beer while creating your project.
Denver has some of the coolest murals and street art, and taking a tour is a fun activity before or after a Denver Broncos game.
You can join a guided walking tour to explore the best of Denver’s graffiti or go on a self-guided tour through some of the most colorful areas, like RiNo and the Art District on Santa Fe.
One of Denver’s most unique experiences is Adams Mystery Playhouse, a theater where you solve humorous murder mysteries in a mansion once used as a mortuary. Enjoy dinner and drink while professional actors create an interactive story.
Adam Mystery Playhouse is a short drive or walk away from the football stadium, so it’s the ideal activity after an afternoon game.
RiNo is a vibrant district where you can easily spend the morning, afternoon, or evening. There are trendy restaurants, contemporary art galleries, and delicious restaurants. It’s also a fun late-night spot with breweries, bars, and food trucks.
Denver’s beer scene is one of the best in the US, so it’s perfect for brewery hopping. You can walk around to breweries in Downtown Denver or join a guided Microbrew Tour to visit some of the most popular breweries and learn about local history.
If you’re spending the night in Denver for a Broncos game, we recommend staying nearby in Downtown Denver for a short drive or an easy light rail ride away from the stadium. There are also a lot of fun activities in this area, including dining, drinking, sightseeing, and shopping.
Downtown Denver has many vacation rentals and hotels. A few of our favorites are The Crawford Hotel, Aloft Downtown Denver, and Le Méridien Denver Downtown.
