Fun Facts About Cerveceria Colorado

Cerveceria Colorado started brewing craft beer in 2018. Before we dive into which of their beers you can enjoy this May at Oakwell Beer Spa, let’s check out some fun brewery facts.

• To honor Mexico’s culture, Cerveceria Colorado uses traditional Mexican ingredients, flavors, and processes to create innovative beers. These ingredients include cinnamon, chilies, nopal, chocolate, mole, lime, and agave. 
• Cerveceria Colorado has worked with about 10 Mexican brewers over the years to create various unique recipes, including a Horchata Blonde and a Churro Stout.
• They’re known for their unique pairing events like Beer & Tamales and Beer & Ice Cream.
• The brewery’s biggest event, the Great Mexican Beer Fiesta, was held in 2018 and again in 2019. They released special beers brewed with Mexican brewers at the fiesta, which featured a mariachi band, food truck, luchador wrestling, and the world’s largest Michelada made with Venga Mexican Lager. • Aligning with Mexico’s diverse regions, Cerveceria Colorado believes beer is inclusive, collaborative, and celebratory.

Venga

Lager, 5% ABV

“Venga” means “Come on!” or “Let’s do it!” So come on to Oakwell Beer Spa for this light, easy-drinking Mexican Lager. It’s finished with a touch of malty sweetness and it’s a delicious addition to a relaxing spa day.

Horchata Blonde

Blonde Ale, 6.3% ABV

The Horchata Blonde is a collaboration beer with Cerveceria Cholula in Mexico, perfect for celebrating Cinco de Mayo. It’s deliciously brewed with rice, lactose sugar, flaked wheat, cinnamon, and vanilla. Enjoy a creamy, sweet, easy-drinking, and balanced beer.

Prickly Pear Strawberry

Sour Ale, 5% ABV

If you like sour beers, you’ll love the Prickly Pear Strawberry. It’s a fuchsia-colored sour ale with juicy strawberry and prickly pear fruit. It’s tart and refreshing, with just a hint of sweetness.

Mango Rico

Mango IPA, 6.5% ABV

Get ready for summer with Mango Rico’s fresh, tropical fruit flavors. It’s made with juicy, ripe mangos and offers a pillowy mouthfeel with a refreshing fruit finish.

Dark Lager

Lager, 5.5% ABV

Enjoy this deep auburn lager brewed with corn and lightly toasted malts. It has the perfect malt balance with a light roast finish. 

May’s Beer Bath Blend at Oakwell Beer Spa

Not only can you sip delicious craft beverages at Oakwell Beer Spa, but you can relax with beer-inspired spa services. Our signature treatment, the Beer Bath Hydrotherapy, lets you soak in a cedar hydrotherapy tub infused with a crafted blend of herbs and beer hops and barley.

This May, the beer bath blend is Mexican-inspired – perfect for celebrating Cinco de Mayo all month long. The blend is made with Trident Hops and Crystal 120 Malt from the Venga Mexican Lager. The hops and malt are infused with juniper berries for a revitalizing bath mixture. 

May’s beer bath blend helps wash away body aches, reduces inflammation, and encourages smoother and softer skin.

Can I really drink beer during my spa treatments?

Absolutely! Beer helps with relaxation, and we want your experience to be incredibly rejuvenating. When you arrive for your spa day, you’ll receive an insulated stainless steel tumbler to enjoy a cold beer (or a few) in the taproom and during your spa treatments. 

The only place we ask guests not to take beverages is the Relaxation Lounge, where you can treat yourself to a Zero Gravity Massage.

What spa services does Oakwell offer?

Oakwell Beer Spa isn’t your traditional day spa. We offer unique treatments, including Beer Bath Hydrotherapy, Infrared Sauna, and Zero Gravity Massage.

The standard spa day package gives you access to a private Beer Therapy™ Room for up to two people. You can also book a spa day for a larger group with the Garage Party Package or rent the entire space for a private party.

How does the self-serve beer wall work?

The self-serve beer wall is one of Oakwell’s most unique features, and we’ll walk you through how it works when you arrive. All you have to do is follow these simple steps:

1. Use the scan card you’ll get when you arrive to unlock the taps on the beverage wall.
2. Check out the rotating selection of Cerveceria Colorado beers. You’ll also find tasting notes and the price per ounce for each drink
3. Choose your drink, scan your card, and pour any amount you’d like.
4. When you’re ready to check out, take your card to the reception desk to pay for the ounces you poured.

Can I just stop by for a beer without a spa treatment?

Of course! The cozy taproom is the perfect space to relax and enjoy a beer or a few with or without a spa day.

Does Oakwell Beer Spa have anything else to drink besides beer?

We understand beer might not be your thing, or you may be in the mood for something else. That’s why we also serve cider, wine, tea, and kombucha. No matter what drink you like, there’s something for you at Oakwell!

Can I hang out in the taproom before and after my treatments?

Please do! We love for guests to hang out in the taproom. Feel free to come in early or stay late to relax as long as you’d like.
