Enjoy a rejuvenating spa experience at Oakwell Beer Spa in Denver. Our infrared saunas use modern-day technology that surpasses the traditional sauna experience.
Sit back, relax, and soak up Oakwell Beer Spa’s Infrared Sauna’s healthy, healing heat. This technique improves your wellness by encouraging your body to detox, sweat, and alleviate tense muscles.
While traditional saunas involve increasing the room's temperature to kickstart the body's sweat, far infrared saunas utilize infrared waves that penetrate straight to the cellular level of your body for more significant results.
When relaxing in the Infrared Sauna at Oakwell Beer Spa, your core body temperature rises to encourage sweat and detoxification. With an increase in your body's core temperature, your sweat comes from internal processes rather than external heat.
Infrared light is a wavelength from the sun known as Infrared Radiation. It's invisible to the human eye and a part of the sun's light spectrum. That said, it doesn't contain UV rays, so it's not harmful to the human body. An infrared sauna experience directly affects your cells and purges toxins from the inside out, which leaves you feeling refreshed.
Infrared Saunas, like we have at Oakwell Beer Spa, harness the safe parts of sunlight to raise your body's heat, increasing your heart rate and enhancing your circulation. This helps improve skin elasticity, promotes healing, and supports weight loss.
Releasing sweat and toxins from your body helps rid bacteria and dead skin to promote softness. Infrared rays can also help clear up acne and firm skin against wrinkles, keeping your body feeling and looking radiant, light, and smooth.
Burn calories while resting? Yes, please! Your heart rate increases when you're relaxing and sweating in the sauna. This tricks your body into thinking it's engaging in cardio, so you burn calories.
In fact, a recent study found that a 30-minute Infrared Sauna session can burn up to 600 calories.
Saunas have been used for thousands of years to clear the body and mind through sweating. Oakwell Beer Spa's modern technology combines ancient spa techniques to form a new and effective way to cleanse your body.
Infrared Sauna rays go an inch and a half into your skin to increase your body’s temperature. This speeds up your heart rate and creates a deep perspiration that shifts toxins and sends them out of the body through sweat.
This deep internal sweat can clear the buildup of nicotine, sodium, cholesterol, and heavy metals from your system.
If you’re experiencing pain, an Infrared Sauna session can be an effective medicine.
Since your sauna treatment at Oakwell Beer Spa increases your heart rate and makes your body feel like it’s doing exercise, your pulse lifts. This expands your blood vessels and improves overall circulation to relieve tension in the body.
Several studies also show infrared therapy as a helpful treatment for people with arthritis and athletes in recovery.
According to infrared therapy clinical studies, there are numerous Infrared Sauna benefits. Infrared heat activates the sweating process from within, so you can experience relaxation while reaping health benefits too.
Oakwell Beer Spa’s cozy taproom and luxury spa services create a relaxing atmosphere. Although we offer a unique experience, we like to keep things simple and stress-free.
The Beer Therapy™ Room is the highlight of Oakwell Beer Spa, which you can enjoy during your Infrared Sauna appointment.
This modern, luxurious room fits one to two people. Each room has an infrared sauna, rain shower, and beer bath hydrotherapy tub.
Start your Beer Therapy™ Circuit with a 20-minute infrared sauna session to sweat out toxins and open up your pores. This prepares your skin to soak up all the benefits of your beer bath blend of hops, malted barley, and herbs.
During your Beer Therapy™ Room session, the sauna and beer bath helps promote calmness, cleanses skin of bacteria and toxins, encourages healthy hair and skin, alleviates muscle and joint pain, and boosts digestion and metabolic rate.
To get the full wellness experience, you’ll spend 20 minutes detoxing in the sauna, get your blood flowing in a cold rain shower, then spend the rest of your time relaxing in your warm bubbly beer bath.
The cozy taproom oasis at Oakwell Beer Spa offers various craft beverages from local Colorado producers, including beer, wine, kombucha, and non-alcoholic drinks.
We also host a tap takeover with a different Colorado brewery each month!
Start your experience at Oakwell in the taproom, or wait until after your treatment to kick back with a beverage. If you'd like to enjoy a drink in your Beer Therapy™ Room, keep it cold and fresh, even in the sauna, by using one of our special triple-insulated tumblers.
Our promise to all Oakwell Beer Spa guests is to provide a safe, clean and sanitized environment. We take pride in our strict cleaning procedures to ensure each visit feels like it’s the first time your Beer Therapy™ Room, including the sauna, has been used.
Timing between each Beer Therapy™ Room appointment allows our Spakeepers to disinfect and deep clean the space. Our ventilation system keeps air fresh and new for your session.

My husband got us a package as a Xmas gift. It sounded fun but I wasn’t sure what to expect. Our experience was perfect from the minute we walked in the door! We interacted with at least 4 employees, all of them were very friendly & helpful. We were immediately greeted with insulated cups & shown to the self pour bar. Each spa room is beautifully set up for a nice romantic escape from reality. They really have thought of everything. You have a private shower, sauna & hot tub in each room with robes & fresh towels. They offer massages for after your spa time but we didn’t do that. Next time for sure. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone! If you want a romantic gift idea – you cannot go wrong with this. Looking forward to going back
Karen M.Wonderful place! They have a brewery of the month beer selection. There’s snacks to munch on. Private room with sauna, shower, small vanity, and the spa itself. We did the zero gravity massage ever and that was one of the best naps I’ve ever had! I would highly recommend this place!
Jenn P.Can simply not recommend this highly enough! We had an absolute blast. The staff were fun, helpful and just so kind and professional. The spa room was clean, welcoming and the best time I have spent with my husband in a long time. HIGHLY recommend the charcuterie board and the incredible selection of beer, sours and cider. The piece de resistance though was the massage chair. Holy sweet heaven. It was absolutely glorious. GO NOW!!!
Nikki K.Amazing experience. The beers were delicious, the spa room was lovely, really enjoyed the infrared sauna to tub. Everyone working made my friend and I feel special and well taken care of. The massage chairs were so nice and well worth adding on. Can’t wait to come back!
Jenn K. G.I don’t even know how to explain this place it is the most amazing thing I’ve stepped into since I’ve been in Denver!! Denver so full of beer fanatics and I just went to check this out and we tried the massage chairs & were blown away! I will be definitely going back and exploring the other services but they’ve really thought of everything and the lounge area is absolutely adorable, the service is impeccable and the beer on tap was incredibly diversified and all sounded delicious!! Nick is The best host ever!!
Christina J.Do you have more questions about infrared saunas? If so, we'd love to answer them so you can prepare for and enjoy your next spa experience!
A traditional sauna uses dry or wet heat from an outside source to warm the body. Meanwhile, an infrared sauna uses infrared light waves to heat your skin and body from within, producing more healing effects.
Infrared saunas range from 100℉ to 160℉. We recommend you start at a lower temperature and work up to a higher temperature if you’re new to infrared therapy to help your body acclimate to the heat.
Overall, infrared saunas are known to be safe for most people. That said, saunas speed up your heart rate and blood flow, so it’s best to consult your doctor if you have heart, liver, or blood pressure issues before using an infrared sauna.
Since you sweat a lot and can get dehydrated, it’s common to feel lightheaded after a sauna session. You can alleviate this by drinking plenty of water before and after the sauna. It’s also important to rest your body after your session to entirely reap the benefits.
Using saunas while drinking is a common worldwide practice. That said, sauna sessions can cause dehydration, so it’s important to pay attention to how your body feels while drinking alcohol in the sauna.
It’s best to drink a lot of water and be mindful of how much alcohol you consume while enjoying your sauna treatment.
At Oakwell Beer Spa, we encourage drinking beer and other beverages in moderation to aid in the relaxation process. That said, we don’t condone overindulging and reserve the right to cancel or cut an appointment short for anyone who appears intoxicated.
In general, hot saunas are not recommended for those who are expecting. We’re not licensed to practice medicine, so please consult your physician for advice on which treatments are safe.
It’s strongly advised to consult your physician before your visit, especially if you’re in your first or third trimester.
If your physician says using the sauna is okay, please ask one of our Beer Therapists to lower the sauna’s heat to your desired temperature.
