Whether you’ve never heard of a ‘beer spa’ or want to learn all there is to know, we answer common questions below.
A beer spa is a day spa that offers beer-infused spa services, most notably beer baths, where guests soak in water infused with hops, malt, and medicinal herbs.
Beer spas also have craft beers on tap so that guests can enjoy adult beverages before, during, and after spa treatments.
Oakwell Beer Spa’s full spa day includes a 90-minute spa session in a private Beer Therapy Room. This includes a detoxifying infrared sauna session, a refreshing cold shower, and a warm, bubbly beer bath.
You can also top your experience off with a 15 or 30-minute Zero Gravity Massage Experience in the Relaxation Lounge, where you can enjoy a full-body, hands-off massage.
You can also hang out in the cozy taproom before and after your spa day experience.
Oakwell Beer Spa is open seven days a week – Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm.
We encourage guests to park in the large, paved parking lot found on the Southwest corner of 31st Ave and Marion St. There’s also ample unmetered street parking on Downing St and 30th Ave.
For guests who need accessible parking, please use the designated ADA parking spot located directly behind our building, which you can access through the alley off 30th Ave.
Please don't park behind the studio apartments next door or in the non-ADA spot directly behind our building, as those are reserved for our neighboring residents. And remember – we want you to have fun, but please don't drink and drive.
You can find information about our tastings and events on our Facebook and Instagram pages @oakwellbeerspa.
Of course! Oakwell Beer Spa can host private parties. For groups of 3 to 4 people, we suggest a Garage Party where we join two Beer Therapy Rooms together via a garage door for a 90-minute Beer Therapy session. For larger groups, you can rent the entire spa for up to three hours.

Of course! We welcome anyone to stop by to try our self-serve beer wall, even if you don't want to book a spa service. With that in mind, we prioritize our spa guests and reserve the right to limit entrance if we are at full capacity.

We’re committed to supporting local, so you'll only find Colorado-based beer and craft beverages in our taproom.
Each month, we have a different local brewery featured during a month-long tap takeover. We feature the brewery's five tastiest beers on tap that month.
Check out our social media pages and blog for the latest details on our partner brewery of the month.
We charge beverages by the ounces you pour. Price per ounce varies, and you'll find information on this at each tap on the self-serve beer wall.
Yes! We understand beer isn’t everyone’s thing, or sometimes you’re in the mood for something else. We also serve wine, cider, kombucha, and other non-alcoholic beverages.
Yes! We know what it’s like to get the munchies while drinking, so we have provided a complimentary selection of snacks for you to enjoy while hanging out in our taproom. We also offer charcuterie boards for purchase featuring a delicious selection of cured meats and imported cheeses.
Most guests stay at Oakwell Beer Spa between 2.5 to 3 hours, although there is no time limit to how long you can stay and hang out.
We suggest checking in 30 minutes before your Beer Therapy Room appointment. Then, you can hang out in the taproom after your appointment for as long as you’d like.
We have four private Beer Therapy Rooms at Oakwell Beer Spa, where the magic of beer therapy takes place.
Each Beer Therapy Room has a cedar hydrotherapy tub, a full-spectrum infrared sauna, a rain shower, and a relaxation deck.
During your 90-minute Beer Therapy Room session, you can jump back and forth between the amenities at your leisure.
Each Beer Therapy Roomâ„¢ can accommodate one or two people per session, so you can book your Beer Therapy Room alone or enjoy it with a loved one or friend.
Yes, of course! Call ahead for groups of 3 or 4, so we can join two of our Beer Therapy Rooms using our roll-up garage doors.
We can also accommodate groups of 5+ by combining all four of our Beer Therapy Rooms. You can also check out our event packages to rent the entire space.
For bookings of more than two people, please call us at (720) 810-1484 to figure out what works best for your needs.
All our Beer Therapy Rooms have Infrared Saunas for you to use during your session. Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the entire room, Infrared Saunas use advanced infrared waves that directly warm the body to offer various healing benefits, including relaxation, pain relief, and improved sleep.
Absolutely! Upon check-in, we'll provide you with a triple-wall, insulated, stainless steel tumbler to use in the taproom and Beer Therapy Rooms.
These tumblers have been custom-made to ensure your drinks stay cold, even while you're in the sauna, beer bath, and shower.
We also provide a robe and slippers in each Beer Therapy Room in case you need to run out and refill your drink in the middle of your session.
The only place you cannot bring a drink is our Relaxation Lounge, where our Zero Gravity Massage Chairs are.
Our Beer Therapists are our friendly customer service attendants available at the check-in counter and taproom to help you with whatever you need throughout your experience at Oakwell Beer Spa.
Our Beer Therapists will guide you from start to finish, from helping you get set up on the self-serve beer wall to escorting you to your Beer Therapy Room at your designated appointment time.
Your Beer Therapy Circuit takes place in the privacy of your own room, so you’re free to wear whatever you’d like. You can wear your bathing suit or your birthday suit.
We recommend comfortable street clothes when you're hanging out in the taproom for drinks and socializing and in the Relaxation Lounge for the Zero Gravity Massage experience.
Not quite. As we fill the beer baths, we infuse the water with a seasonal herbal blend that always uses beneficial beer ingredients, hops and malted barley, as a base.
Our in-house herbalist curates a new herbal beer bath blend every month, incorporating herbs like lavender, calendula, chamomile, and peppermint, depending on the season.
These herbs and beer ingredients slowly brew as the water fills the tub, creating a giant beer tea – except instead of drinking it, you soak in it!
No, we don’t put yeast in the beer baths, and the mixture in the tub isn’t fermented. The water in the bath is infused with a beer-inspired herbal blend that always includes a base of hops and barley, plus other seasonal ingredients.
Yes, bathing in beer is extremely good for the skin. Various studies have found that beer’s main ingredients, hops and malted barley, contain medicinal properties that improve your skin, hair, and overall wellness.
Hops is a natural sedative with numerous calming and anti-aging properties. Barley is packed full of antioxidants and vitamins, particularly Vitamin B2 and B3, which are known to nourish hair, nails, and skin.
Of course. Just like we wouldn’t want to bathe in someone else’s bath, we don’t expect you to either.
After each use, our tubs are fully drained, disinfected, and refilled with clean water. Our promise is that when you dip into your beer bath, you can rest easy knowing you are the first to use it.
Yes, thank you for asking! When enjoying your Beer Therapy Room, please be mindful of your noise level, as this is meant to be a relaxing space.
If you need to run to the restroom or taproom, we also ask that you dry yourself off and slip on the provided robe and slippers to avoid creating a slip hazard in our common spaces.
While most people with celiac are only sensitive to gluten when ingested, we have spoken with people concerned about bathing in a bath with barley. To accommodate everyone's needs, we have developed a gluten-free beer bath in collaboration with Holidaily Brewing which replaces the malted barley with millet.
If you would like a gluten-free beer bath, let one of our Beer Therapists know after booking.
Outside food and beverages, including snacks, alcoholic beverages, and non-alcoholic beverages, are prohibited within our facility. Outside cosmetic products, including face masks, essential oils, body oils, and body scrubs, are also prohibited from being used within our facility. For your safety and the safety of others, guests and their possessions are subject to inspection as a condition of admittance. Our team reserves the right to deny admittance to intoxicated patrons.
We firmly believe in making Oakwell Beer Spa a safe and welcoming space for all people, regardless of physical ability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Due to this, our facility is entirely ADA-accessible. This includes a designated ADA Beer Therapy Room with an ADA shower bench, sauna ramp, and mechanical spa lift.
If you'd like to book our ADA-accessible Beer Therapy Room or need other accommodations, please let us know when booking your appointment so we can have everything ready for you.
We encourage our guests to enjoy a pint or two to aid in the relaxation process, but we do not recommend overindulging. Like any other bar or spa, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Please remember that Oakwell Beer Spa is a day spa and wellness space, not a nightclub or dive bar. If any of our guests are disturbing the well-being or peace of others, our Beer Therapists reserve the right to ask that person to leave without a refund.
Combining alcohol with saunas and hot tubs is a frequent tradition worldwide, from having a stein at the hot mineral springs in Germany to taking vodka shots in the saunas in Finland. As with anything, it's important to stay in tune with how your body is feeling, stay hydrated, and take a break when needed.
At Oakwell Beer Spa, we encourage drinking beer and other beverages in moderation to support relaxation. That said, we don’t condone overindulging and reserve the right to cancel or cut an appointment short for anyone who appears intoxicated.
To ensure the safety of our guests, we maintain our saunas and hot tubs at a moderate temperature, with the beer baths never going above 100F and the saunas staying below 160F. We also provide cold drinking water throughout our facility to help our guests stay hydrated.
We're not licensed to practice medicine, so please consult your physician for advice on which treatments are safe. In general, hot tubs and saunas aren't recommended for those who are expecting, but if your physician says it's okay, please ask one of our Beer Therapists to lower the heat of the sauna and hot tub to your desired temperature.
It's also strongly advised to consult your physician before using the Zero Gravity Massage Chairs, especially if you are in your first or third trimester.
Please alert our team during the booking process if you have a specific allergy we need to know about. The herbal mixes that we use in our beer baths change on a seasonal basis, so if you have any concerns, please consult one of our Beer Therapists, and we'll figure out the best way to accommodate you.
If you have any medical issues, including seizures, recently broken bones, high or low blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, metal or silicone implants, or a chronic illness, we ask that you consult your doctor before using the beer bath, Infrared Sauna, or Zero Gravity Massage Chairs.
